The mountain goat that jumped out of a plane and lost her iPad

Abel Tasman is probably one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand. I went there with a great bus load of people, a lot of different ages and personalities but somehow we all got along really well.

After a good nights sleep, in a normal bed (!) instead of a bunk bed, it was time for a hike in gorgeous Abel Tasman National park. Me and a few others from the bus took the Aquataxi to the start of the walk. We started walking and I had so much energy for some reason, might have been the amazing bed, I literally ran up the hills and an English girl I walked with started calling me "the mountain goat"... Love it, the best nickname I've ever had, not that I've had a lot of them. The walk was amazing and so was the company, can't be much better than that, can it?

It actually can, believe it or not, because the day after it was time for my first ever skydive! Me and another girl woke up early and waited for what seemed like ages for the car that would take us to the skydive place. We were both so excited, when the car finally arrived.

I didn't get nervous at all, I was excited but not nervous, not scared or anxious and that surprised me a lot. We went in the plane and my skydive buddy started explaining to me what was going to happen and what I would do before, during and after the free fall. You basically put your feet under the plane, hold on to the harness and rest your head on the instructors shoulder... Then you fall. You don't have time to think before you fall, you just fall and it is the best feeling in the world. I fell for almost a minute before the parachute opened. Then you just fly around, my instructor told me a lot about the places we could see, not that I remember any of that.

We landed very smoothly, not really but we can pretend, and then I went to pay. I took a post-skydive selfie and went to try on a t-shirt before it was time to hop on the bus again... After about 15 minutes in the bus, I realised that I'd forgot my iPad! Dumdumdum!!!

To be continued...
