The best bus ever

When I jumped on the bus, that was going to take me from Queenstown all the way to Kaikoura, I got a really nice surprise! Anna, who had been my driver first from Hamilton to Raglan and then again from Te Anau to Queenstown, was the driver. Anna is a really cool person, she's crazy, like one of the craziest persons I've ever met, but she's amazing and if you're nice to her she would do almost anything for you. She is more like a traveling buddy than just a driver. There were also a lot of other familiar faces on the bus, Sarah and Tara for example. Two really cool Canadian girls. It took me a while to realise how amazing they were but once I started talking to them I didn't want to stop. Simone and Elli, the really cute Austrian girls that I'd met numerous times along the way, were also on the bus. A really awesome bus, probably the best bus ever.

Our first stop was Mt Cook, a beautiful place, where me Elli and Simone did a walk together. The goal was to get to the glacier but it was extremely windy and cold so we just walked for about 40 minutes before we gave up and turned around. I took a bath when we went back, that was so nice, just laying in the bathtub and listening to music. That is something you don't do very often as a backpacker.

After a good nights sleep, we continued to Rangitata, with a quick stop in Tekapo, where we visited a church. It was actually a really beautiful church, just next to the lake and instead of an altar painting it had a big window facing the lake and the mountains on the other side. Truly beautiful. We also stopped in a small town that I can't remember the name of, there was a market going on and it was really nice to just walk around and look. In Rangitata we went for a walk to the river, while a few were rafting, it was windy but the sun was shining and I had really nice company. When we got back, we played monopoly and then went outside to try walking on a slack line. It's hard. Super hard!
