Colonia del Sacramento
Right now I'm on the bus from beautiful and romantic Colonia del Sacramento to Montevideo. Colonia was truly amazing. It's a small and very old town just next to the river. It feels like time stood still for the last fifty years or so, really cozy. Colonia is a very popular tourist destinatio, although there's a lot of tourists in the small town it doesn't feel like a tourist attraction.
A thing you have to do in Colonia is to climb up the stairs of the old lighthouse, to see the town from above. It costs 25 Uruguayan pesos (around 8 SEK), and it's defenitly worth it! There's also a lot of small streets, with cute cafés and old stone houses, to wander.
I only had one day in Colonia, unfortunatel, but I would definitly want to go back there one day.
The he plan now is to spend a day or two in Montevideo and then continue along the cost of Uruguay to Punta del Este and Punta del Diablo before continuing on to Brazil.
I'm very excited and I think the next few weeks will be full of wonderful adventures.
Cheers!
